Students wrote about the school, about what they have been learning, and what they are hopeful of. Recently, Mr. Carlos Alberto Torres sent a response to our students.

April 4, 2010 marked thirty years that Carlos Alberto Torres (Oscar Lopez Rivera = 29 years), has been imprisoned fighting for the independence of his nation. Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos Returns to Harvard University

In 1913, Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos, started his Harvard education. Almost 100 years later, a Chicago school named after him was invited to speak on a panel about Social Justice in schools. Principal Matthew Rodríguez, spoke about the dangers in using the phrase “Social Justice,” the practices at our school and helped the audience see the trouble with the current system of education. Latino Youth H.S. claims victory at ChiTown Cup 2009; PACHS senior named MVP
In neon-yellow, gray and maroon t-shirts, young men of Aspira Charter High School, Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos Puerto Rican H.S., Rudy Lozano Leadership Academy and Latino Youth Alternative H.S. went “toe-to-toe” at the 2nd annual ChiTown Cup Soccer Tournament on Saturday, November 14. Spectators, which included school staff, students and family members, gathered to watch the soccer games at the Barreto Union League Boys and Girls Club located in Humboldt Park.
