PACHS v Staff

The Girls basketball team defeats the PACHS staff 18-16. Shaneka Jackson is dominant and Grace provides confidence and direction for her team. Esmeralda “Shorty” ran the point guard constantly twisting and turning the ball behind her back. The team was confident amidst their tired walk back and forth from offense to defense and back.

Head Coach Christina Camacho, was pleased with the win and was able to get everyone playing time and called time outs to focus the efforts of the team.

The next game for the team is TBD but looks to be more challenging because it will be against a different alternative school and not staff members. The PACHS staff will look for a better outing, hoping for a rematch.

Upcoming Events

After School Matters has begun; Monday, July 26th: co-founder of Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos High School and Puerto Rican political prisoner Carlos Alberto Torres is RELEASED and will visit Chicago – join us in welcoming him at La Casita de Don Pedro, 2625 W. Division, 4-6pm; Week of August 30th: each day of this week will be a mandatory orientation day for a group of Albizu Campos students. Keep this week open because students will not be able to start in our school without their orientation; Sunday, September 5th: Bandera a Bandera Fiesta Boricua; Tuesday, September 7th: first day of school.
